Fear (1996)

Nicole Walker...
- a fairly innocent teenager
- a rebellious streak

Nicole kicked out of her mother's house. She now lives in the suburbs of Seattle with her well-meaning but overbearing father Steven and his new family: second wife, Laura; Toby, Laura's preteen son from her first marriage.

At a rave, Nicole meets David McCall who has borderline personality disorder and antisocial features.

A rave (from the verb: to rave) is a large party featuring performances by disc jockeys (DJs) and occasionally live performers playing electronic music, particularly electronic dance music (EDM).

When viewing people as all good, the individual is said to be using the defense mechanism idealization: a mental mechanism in which the person attributes exaggeratedly positive qualities to the self or others. When viewing people as all bad, the individual employs devaluation: attributing exaggeratedly negative qualities to the self or others.

Antisocial (or dissocial) personality disorder is characterized by a pervasive pattern of disregard for, or violation of, the rights of others. There may be an impoverished moral sense or conscience and a history of crime, legal problems, and impulsive and aggressive behavior.
